Le tourbillon de la vie

Before yesterday, I had waited years and years before watching "Jules et Jim," themasterpiece by Francois Truffaut on the menage a trois involving Catherine, Jules and Jim.

The last attempt was at the Cinematheque Quebecoise: I and another Catherine of mine had missed the projection. Few, few years ago. I remember we complained and wrote a note to request another projection.

In the movie, one sees Jim and Catherine exchanging letters and telegrams. Each of these papers carry such a weight of thoughts, such a huge portion of life. Now we dilute meaning in e-mails, sms, cell phone calls. They just need milliseconds to propagate all over the planet. Three days separate Jim and Catherine. Three days vs. one Augenblick. Except that, it seems to me that the world did not change so much between 1920 and now. not that much.
